Tell me the truth, do I look tired?

So it turns out these fancy things called wacom tablets can actually do some pretty cool stuff. I made this from a black and white drawing and was able to get it to look pretty close to a real watercolor painting. Not that photoshop will ever be able to replace the real thing, but it's nice to find out you can take things in this direction if you need to. This was probably ten times quicker than if I had done it with real watercolor, and a lot more forgiving.

kids these days...

Sometimes I'm okay with not making sense.

I know the feeling.

A page from my sketchbook. I'm trying something new with this latest book, instead of using it as an all purpose, drawing, thumbnail, diary, grocery list, etc.. I'm going to have one that I keep separate for more well thought out drawings. I'm hoping this will push some of my sketches a little past the rough, messy stage (although there's something to be said for those kind of drawings as well). This is an example of something in between polished and rough.
I'm also going to try and incorporate text in as much stuff as I can, since my recent forays into graphic design have brought to light my unbelievable lack of talent at understanding fonts.

The Lost Design

I was approached a few months ago to design a shirt for Keydon.com. I knew through the grapevine that the deal was pretty flimsy, but I figured I wasn't going to give out any sensitive information and the worst that could happen was I wouldn't get paid. Well, that was true, I didn't, which is about what I expected so it's fine. The shirt I designed was on their site, for about a week, and then they dropped all of their designs, and decided to go the route of those really original college humor shirts (it pains me to look at the site actually). I should have known better, but at least I got some experience out of it.

Here's the shirt I did, it was a drawing that I had lying around that didn't make a whole lot of sense, and so I wasn't all that attached to it. It is what it is, I like to think of him as being in the corner of some really fancy masquerade, silently judging everyone.
